Big blogs like John Chow dot com sometimes offer a service called ‘ReviewMe’, where you pay a hefty fee to have a big important person review your site on their blog. The downside is that it usually costs money, and most of us can’t afford to drop $450 for a plug from John Chow.

On that note, I’d like to offer a different service from this blog. I think I’ll call it ‘ReviewU’. For a one-time fee of $0, I’ll review your site/blog/service right here in no less than 200 words. The catch? You have to be trying to make money with your little online venture. If I don’t like your site, I promise I won’t be nice. If your site is a clone, a dud, or just a dumb idea, I’ll make sure everybody knows. On the other hand, I might like it and drive some traffic to your site. Who knows.

Paid Reviews

There’s one little thing about free ReviewU’s: I don’t have to do them. If I think your site is fine, and I can’t think of anything witty to say about it, chances are I won’t review it. For those of you out there who really, really want a plug from this site, now you have a new option: ReviewU Now. For a onetime fee of $20, I guarantee I’ll review your site in no less than 300 words within a week of payment. Additionally, I’ll write your site’s name/URL on a sign and take a picture of me holding it while drinking Jones Soda. What does that do for you? Not much, but it increases brand recognition for me (I’m the only person I know of who reviews sites while drinking Jones soda).

The price of ReviewU Now is based entirely on how many RSS readers I have. Right now, since I’m dancing around 200 readers, the price will be $20. Once I hit 300 readers, the price will increase to $30 (and so on and so forth).
